Energy meets
data.
I'm an engineer by training who spent three years as a Registered Energy Advisor auditing homes across Canada — measuring air leakage, modelling heat loss, quantifying savings. Now I do that work at scale: Python, SQL, and Power BI (Microsoft PL-300 certified), applied to energy data. I understand the measurements before I model them.
Currently building projects at the intersection of energy efficiency and data analytics — and actively looking for the right Data Analyst role.

ontario-energy-mix
End-to-end analysis of Ontario's electricity generation mix (2015–2026) using SQL Server, Python, and Docker. Examines Natural Gas's evolving role as demand climbs and nuclear capacity temporarily contracts.
ontario-bps-energy-dashboard
Power BI dashboard analyzing energy use and GHG emissions across Ontario's Broader Public Sector (2021–2023) — a PL-300 companion project covering data modeling, Power Query, and DAX on a real regulator-published dataset.
Notes from the transition
The Problem of Streaks and Sessions
Islands-and-gaps problems keep resurfacing on LeetCode, StrataScratch, and DataLemur under different names — login streaks, active sessions, consecutive runs. This post works through the solutions to these problems in three levels.
The Window Function Trick That Saved Me a CTE
I was reaching for another CTE just to compute a group total, then realised you can nest an aggregate inside a window function and skip it entirely.
Let's talk energy
and data.
I am actively looking for Data Analyst and Energy Data Analyst opportunities. If you are working on energy usage, efficiency, emissions, utility, or grid data problems — I would love to hear from you.
